At The Drive In, Jake Bugg, Mark Lanegan & Beach Slang / Spring King Announce Splendour Sideshow Support Acts
It’s July, so that can only mean one thing - Splendour in the Grass and its official sideshows are happening THIS MONTH, so we thought it was about time we gave you some support news!
Joining At The Drive-In’s sold out tour will be one of the most exciting guitar acts in Australia, Bad//Dreems.
Jake Bugg’s Perth show will be supported by local wordsmith Peter Bibby. Described as 'a naughty bastard with a heart of gold and a voice of rotting grapes' as well as 'a sweet cup of sauce', Bibby will be strumming tracks from his debut album Butcher/Hairstylist/Beautician, which the West Australian proclaimed as a “triumph and one of the year’s best albums, from Australia or anywhere.
Supporting the legendary Mark Lanegan in Sydney is one of the city’s best live bands, The Laurels. The Laurels have carved a world wide reputation for their blend of warm shoegaze bliss and dangerous psychedelic rock after the release of their debut EP Mesozoic and critically-acclaimed LP Plains.
Mike Noga & Band will be supporting Mark Lanegan’s sold out Melbourne show. After recently wrapping up a European and Australian tour with legendary Minnesota band Low, Mike Noga has returned to Melbourne with a new band, a new album, and a fresh sound.
On support duties for Spring King and Beach Slang’s huge double headline debut shows in Australia will be Sydney garage quartet Food Court. The band have had a huge year with singles‘14 Years Young’ and ‘On The River’ added to rotation on triple j, FBi and national community radio, not to mention their own East Coast headline tour off the back of supporting Courtney Barnett, UK’s Peace, and Northeast Party House.
