Theres no doubt Good Doogs have been slaying it this year, selling out shows all around the country and then announcing a huge headline tour for 'Want That' which includes a stop off at Shakafest, happening November 24th at Broadwater Parklands. For its third year, the festival has doubled its line up and is set to be huge. Check out what the band had to say!
There’s no doubt you’ve had a whirlwind twelve months, what has been the highlight for you guys so far?
Haha yeah it’s been pretty skits ummm I’d say the highlight woulda been selling out a whole national tour on our last run with every show selling out before doors except one. That was pretty psycho haha
Being from Western Australia you’ve managed to cover a lot of venues around the country his year, how have you found life on the road?
Expenno. Haha being from WA is sick but it’s definitely not close to anything so this year has cost a shitload and it never feels like you’re getting ahead. But it’s starting to show some results, hopefully it keeps going ha
You’ve released three singles this year, can we expect another EP release or possibly an album anytime soon?
Ummm really depends who gets involved with us moving forward, we are talking to a few labels and it will depend who wants to jump on and what they want to do really. We have the songs there but it’s all about what’s right at the time I think
There’s no denying you don’t mind a beer or ten, are you prepared to send it at Shakafest?
I dunno what time we are playing yet but it won’t really matter, you will see us all embarrassing ourselves and punishing everyone at some point in the day haha
If you could join one another band on stage that’s also on the Shakafest line-up, who would it be?
Last Dinos! Sean’s a lord and the band are absolutely killing it, really backin what those guys are doing
If you had to pick between the two, which would you prefer. Listen to someone scratch a chalkboard through headphones or watch Smash Mouth’s ‘All Star’ music video on repeat?
I just had to watch it again to remember what it was. 185 million views on it already, real big dad rock mood on it too. I’m picking smash mouth hahaha
Who did ‘Sound of Silence’ the best, Simon and Garfunkel or Disturbed?
Garfunkel. The disturbed one you’re kinda just waiting for a breakdown the whole time and when it doesn’t come you realise you just blew 4 minutes of your life
Lastly, what would it take for you to close your set at Shakafest with Whitney Houston’s version of ‘I Will Always Love You’?
Hahaha probably a dare. We do most dumb shit people ask but I dunno how happy the promotors would be hahaha
