We had a sweet little catch up with the lovely Bec Sandridge prior to the biggest event in Wollongong, Yours & Owls Festival, with one of the biggest lineups they've ever put up. We ask Bec the all important questions, actually nah we just had heaps of fun, caught up on her most recent gigs, and got some locals knowledge of the gong before we head there for the festival.
RR: How are you, where in the world are you today?
Hello, hello! All is well – I’m in thunder-y / rainy but beautiful Melbourne!
RR:So you've been busy lately, supporting Catfish And The Bottleman, Big Pineapple Festival Bigsound, have you had much down time lately ? Any writing ?
I feel all I’ve been doing lately is writing which is good. I would love an actual holiday though!
RR: How were the Electric Lady shows they looked insane! What was your view on the experience ?
I think the Electric Lady shows were a good start to change by giving women a voice but there can always be more done ie: getting more female engineers, techs, stage managers etc involved!
RR: Yours & Owls is only a few weeks out now, which is a stella lineup in the hometown, how are you feeling for this one?
I just called my Mum actually and I’m so excited to see my family and hang out with old friends. It should be a good time!
RR: For people who haven't been to Wollongong before, whats some areas/places we should check out?
I would visit Sifters café and maybe sifters handling if you’re into cool furniture also Peppies is the BEST FLORIST IN ALL OF WOLLONGONG!
RR: Can you let us in on some plans for the rest of the year/ next year?
I’m maybe releasing a new song off my (just quietly) debut album in a couple of weeks…

It was Newtown Social Club but let’s say Howler.
