I'm sure you've all witnessed the craziness that is King Gizzard And The Lizard Wizard and they're slight obsession with recording numerous amounts of albums, well here is the 10th, Flying Microtonal Banana. Flying Microtonal Banana is King Gizzard’s first-ever experience in microtonal tuning, which features intervals smaller than a semitone and not found in customary Western tuning octaves. Following the frazzled freakbeat of 2016’s Nonagon Infinity LP, the magical mayhem of the national Gizzfest tour and their last loud summer lap on Laneway Festival, endlessly inventive rock ‘n’ roll septet, King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard release their new LP Flying Microtonal Banana.

“Earlier this year we started experimenting with a custom microtonal guitar our friend Zak made for Stu,” further explained drummer Eric Moore. “The guitar was modified to play in 24-TET tuning and could only be played with other microtonal instruments. We ended up giving everyone a budget of $200 to buy instruments and turn them microtonal. The record features the modified electric guitars, basses, keyboards and harmonica as well as a turkish horn called a Zurna.”

Catch the band perform Australian exclusive hometown launches for the new LP. These special Melbourne only shows include an all ages/U-18 show and will be their last Australian dates before heading off to Europe, Canada and the USA to do various great live things including Coachella, Primavera and headline shows.

As well as being in 360 degree, in-the-round format, the Flying Microtonal Banana launches will have multiple banana related benefits and each show will feature 2 full Gizzard sets – one new album set and one classic. Most shows are sold out so if you got a ticket, bloody yes!
