Angus and Julia Stone have been on the Australian music live music circuit for over a decade now, releasing their first E.P 'The Beast' back in 2007, this E.P is still one of my favourites just super honest music that brings back memories of summer and growing up on the coast. The brother and sister duo started off playing the Avalon Markets, you know how you always see sweet teenagers and kids giving the busking thing a crack at markets, well that was Angus and Julia who are now selling out shows internationally and nationally.

The pair haven't released an album for 3 years, since their self titled album back in 2014. Angus has since released his solo project Dope Lemon which is the most Angus style music you can imagine, also the name of the project says a lot too. With Julia having released a solo album and collaborating with a lot of artists over the years, it made me think she was moving away from the scene but to see 'Snow' come alive,  sparked excitement in a lot of fans, including myself.

The Enmore Theatre was filled to the brim, as we made our way to the mezzanine, it was the perfect venue to enjoy a show like Angus and Julia Stone, and the diversity in the audience was super beautiful, dads, mums, grandparents, old friends, they were all there.

The stage was beautifully set up, a huge totem pole of an eagle sat in the middle of the stage, bringing each element of the live set together really nicely. The pair graced the stage with their band, the crowd erupted into an applause and they made their way through tracks from the newly released album 'Snow', with fans having rehearsed the lyrics, many sing alongs were taking place throughout the theatre. With tracks like 'Chateau' and 'Cellar Door' sounding beautiful as ever.

Julia was absolutely mesmerising throughout the entirety of the set, absolutely stealing the show. Something I really loved about the set was that Julia's tracks were showcased which is something that doesn't happen very often in Angus and Julia shows, Angus's tracks like 'Paper Aeroplane' or 'Just A Boy' are normally the ones you'd hear but this was very different, We got to hear 'Heart Beats Slow', 'For You', 'Private Lawn's' and the set was finished off with 'Solider'. Julia is just incredible, playing the trumpet, the bass, the tambourine, the acoustic guitar, like what a woman!

Angus got to play his popular track 'Uptown Folks' off his Dope Lemon album 'Honey Bones' released late last year. Angus seemed a little out of touch throughout this set, forgetting lyrics at some stage but it was recovered nicely with the support of his older sister. There was a beautiful cover of Neil Young's 'Harvest Moon' which hit me the spots with some emotion, such a lovely edition to the set.

The visuals throughout the set really brought the performance together as a whole, with the colours and visuals evoking the changing of the seasons which represented the name of the tour and album 'Snow' ever so well. The show was beautiful, it felt very relaxed like we were all hanging out in the bands lounge room. I think I will always love this band, they're insanely talented. Grateful I got to witness such an excellent performance.
