After being away from the Byron bay music scene for the past 4 months I was super excited to witness the great live music I had been missing. I was so stocked when I heard The Jungle Giants were putting on a funky tour for their new debut album Quiet ferocity.

The Jungle Giants embarked on their national tour last week, kicking off their first show in Brisbane on Friday night at The Triffid. They then continued to boogie their way down to Byron bay for their sold out show at The Great Northern.

The night kicked off with the local band Seaside. The band consists of four talented musicians Darcy (vocals), Brady (guitar), Tom (bass) and Chris (drums). Throughout the whole set I was captured by their chilled electronic vibe. Darcy (vocals) has the sweetest voice which I was instantly drawn to and the lyrics being relatable in a sense.

After Seaside Heaps Good Friends took the stage. This duo of 9 years, Emma and Nick have been creating music all the way from Adelaide, South Australia. They like to call refer to their music as "peanut brittle pop with text message lyrics". Which is exactly how I would describe them. All band members had a really great stage presence and were dancing around making everyone happy. They put on such a great poppy performance.

Lastly came The jungle Giants. The stars of the show. This funky band consists of Sam Hales (vocals/guitar), Cesira Aitken (Lead guitar), Andrew Dooris (bass guitar/ backing vocals) and Keelan Bijker on the drums. These guys were honestly the most fun I've had ages. From beginning to end they didn't fail to get the whole crowd involved, ready to get down and boogie. Seeing the smiles and excitement on everyone's faces as they played 'Bad Dream' was amazing. Everyone had so much fun listening and dancing to this great band from Brisbane, QLD. They made the night memorable and I would highly recommend checking out their new album 'Quiet Ferocity'
