So this is a band who have progressed significantly in the last few years. I remember seeing two of the members from the band (Louie and Patrick) at bluesfest busking tent in 2015. And then Parcels at that small stage at splendour that all the locals play. Well yeah, look at them now.
They've since moved to Berlin and it has done wonders for the band, they're still 19/20 years old mind you !! They've been added to massive festival lineups in Europe and are constantly touring, not to mention members from daft punk have come to their shows and decided yeah let's work with these guys. Very impressive!
This show was originally at the Lansdowne with a capacity of 200 but the demand was too high for the band so a venue upgrade was in order. It was extremely sweaty as per usual in there but was home to a very diverse crowd. Dads, mums, 18 year olds and everything else really.
The band came out with glowing smiles, mad style that wasn't temperature appropriate and bam they kicked off. The funk was well into motion. Everyone knew the lyrics, and bodies were grooving non stop. Especially old mate next to me who was physically jumping and fist pumping like it was 1999.
The band are extremely, extremely well rehearsed and unified as a band and as mates. They know their set list and it ran so very smoothly.
Playing songs from their 'Hideout' E.P along with the other banger singles they have released. It was so nice to be at a show where people were so damn happy and just dancing! The band were very grateful and by looking at the many different looks on their faces they seemed to be thinking ' holy shit the crowd knows the lyrics'... humility at its finest.
At such a young age, these boys are mature beyond their years musically and I can't wait to see them play in Australia more, they've nearly sold out their Aussie tour so they have to come back.
One of the best shows I've seen in a long time
