It was the first show of the Chemical Miracle Tour for the melodic, hardcore band Trophy Eyes, and they certainly kicked it off with a bang. The novacastrian boys were clearly amped to be playing in their hometown at the Cambridge Hotel. Nose Bleed was the first song to be belted out and within seconds the sold out crowd turned into absolute mayhem. The atmosphere had been set; everyone was ready for a heavy, sweaty hour of music.
After 50 minutes of playing crowd favourites such as Counting Sheep, Heaven Sent and Breathe You In, it was time for the song that everyone had been waiting for Chlorine, which opens their latest Chemical Miracle album. The song narrowly missed out on Triple j"s hottest 100, coming in at #101. This massive tune did not disappoint. John screamed out the lyrics so passionately yet let the crowd sing the last verse.

For the first time in the set the whole band stood still, soaking it all in and looking at how far they had come. The love and appreciation between the boys and their fans was at an ultimate high. As the confetti flew and Trophy Eyes poured themselves into the last few minutes everyone could tell they had just witnessed some hell good music.

With only 2 shows left on the tour, Adelaide on the 17th and Melbourne on the 18th I would definitely recommend getting there early, and especially to see their supporting act Columbus who also put on a hell of a show. If you unfortunately miss out on this tour, I would hands down put Trophy eyes on your wish list of bands to see in 2017.
