QMUSIC has brought us another exciting year of Music Awards, and the finalists have just been announced! Since the awards started up in 2006, the ceremony has continued its legacy of providing Queensland artists a platform of recognition for their achievement in songwriting, performing and musical talent.
The awards are now divided into categories of genre, age, popular female and male, and more, giving many talented artists the opportunity to receive recognition for their amazing work! Last year we had winners such as Airling, Vernons, The Kite String Tangle, whilst Violent Soho and Sahara Beck have luckily enough been nominated again for 2016.
This years QMA’s will be commentated by comedian and triple j host Gen Fricker. Wonderful local acts such as The Belligerents, Ayla, Astro Travellers, Standby Empire will also be gracing the stage on the night! The Arts Queensland’s Billy Thorpe Scholarship is another fantastic highlight for the night, granting a mammoth $10,000 to an emerging QLD based musician! With Ayla winning last year, the 2016 finalists are Babaganouj, FOREVR, Leanne Tennant and Luke Peacock. The QMA's Finalists
