Gold Coast four-piece Electric Zebra are currently on a national take over, touring their latest single, 'I Blink', which definitely showcases the bands grunge alt-punk sound that we can't get enough of.  Tayla Sudall asked, lead singer Keelan Sanders a few questions about the tour, the new track and hopefully more material to be released later this year...which we can't bloody wait to get our hands on!

First up, you guys have a really grungey/punk type of sound, who would you say are the bands biggest influences?
I'd have to say Nirvana, Cloud Nothings, Violent Soho, Weezer, Beyoncé

Where did the name ‘Electric Zebra’ come from?
The name comes from a drawing I did on my QCS test back in high school

I saw on your Facebook page that Adam has injured his ankle but is still planning on continuing with the tour anyway, can you tell us how Adam actually injured his ankle?
He stepped in a hole whilst carrying his amp just before a show and twisted it

Has he had another guitar throne to play from?
If we could afford more guitars we'd think about it

‘I Blink’ has been receiving tonnes of good reviews online, how has this made you all feel?
Daniels ego has experienced a boom. But seriously the best thing has just been seeing people sing along at shows.

How have you guys been travelling around on tour?
In a van we named "Fatman" that constantly has the check engine light on.

Haha that sounds badass…
Has there been any dramas/fun stories/highlights you can tell me about from the tour so far?

No dramas, highlights include YASS VALLEY MACCAS, thinking it was raining but it was actually bugs smashing the windscreen, and 2000km of countryside views.

What’s next after the ‘I Blink’ tour? Will there be another E.P or perhaps an album?
We have plenty of new material in the works, and not saying we're putting something else out this year, but we're putting something else out this year.

Thanks again for taking time out to answer these questions, I wish you all the best of luck for your remaining shows in Melbourne in Sydney and can’t wait to hear more awesome tunes coming from you guys.
