New music for your ears including Blank Realm, Velociraptor, Donny Love, Crystal Castles, the Cactus Channel & more!
VELOCIRAPTOR – DOLLARMITE

‘Dollarmite’ is about growing up in an unstable home environment and its direct effect on early adulthood. It references the golden times of the Commonwealth Bank's Dollarmite scheme and the glory of the Sega Megadrive, before heading into the darker territory of anxiety, the trials of self-improvement attempts and an overarching fear of death.
SAFIA – EMBRACING ME

'Embracing Me' pairs intimate lyrical styling with crisp and snappy beat production, offering the new single that’s arguably one of SAFIA’s best yet.
BAD//DREEMS – HIDING TO NOTHING

Recorded with iconic producer Mark Opitz (AC/DC, the Angels, INXS, Cold Chisel) it follows previous breakthrough singles ‘Dumb Ideas’ and ‘Cuffed and Collared’ songs which have seen the band grow from its humble beginnings in a whitegoods warehouse to one of the most exciting guitar acts in the country and promising even greater things to come.

“Swimming through another Friday night, bathe yourself in the pokie lights.” Singer Ben Marwe is probably singing about life in Adelaide, but the sentiment could apply to anyone who yearns to break free from the manacles of their humdrum hometown. It’s a song that speaks to the daily doubts that belie our hopes and dreams.
DONNY LOVE – CARNIVEROUS MAN

Comprising of four Gold Coast mates, the band’s sound is undeniably influenced by the members’ experiences growing up near the beach and ocean. Donny Love’s music has inevitably come to be affected by the sun-bleached haze, invoking images of tanned skin babies, sandy togs and long summer days.

Mastering the art of lo-fi retro pop, Donny Love also discuss the much seedier side to the tourist town of the Gold Coast. Referencing the darker side of existence, long alcohol and drug-fuelled nights, sexual experiences and frustrations, and the feelings induced from living in such an incestuous and insulated city.
CRYSTAL CASTLES – DEICIDE

Following the release of 'Frail' in April, Crystal Castles 'Deicide' is unveiled, the band's second track with new vocalist Edith. 'Frail' spent a full week at #1 on Hype Machine. Sincere thank you for the support. A new Crystal Castles album is on the way, 'Frail' and 'Deicide' are just a peak at what’s to come.
FOREVR – HEART OF ICE

Channelling the lush textures of My Bloody Valentine and the romance of the Cocteau Twins, FOREVR have adopted an electronic foundation - drum machines, audio sampling and synth bass - that places them at the forefront of modern shoegaze. “Demonstration” is evocative, textural, beautiful and best played loud.
YOU BEAUTY – ILLYWHACKA

From the band that brought you the highly-acclaimed “Jersey Flegg”, a post-punk / pub rock opera about a '90s rugby star going off the rails, You Beauty are back with a new concept album about the sinister world of internet dating.
BLANK REALM – RIVER OF LONGING

What exactly sibling singers Daniel and Sarah Spencer are so excited about is a matter of interpretation. Clearly there's a primal journey to be taken here: their lines are filled with nature imagery—"caverns of your mind" and "volcanic ash in both our eyes" alongside hopes to "meet you on the other side/ and we’ll make up for stolen time." That other side might be the consummation of a smoldering crush, or it could be the actual afterlife. Either way, Blank Realm make the trip sound like a lot of fun. For a band that’s made their share of darker music, ‘River of Longing’ is their most unabashedly joyful song yet.
