New music for your ears including DIIV, The Delicates, Harts, Cleopold, Asdasfr Bawd, Good Morning, Emma Louise & more!
DIIV – BENT (ROI’S SONG) (CAPTURED TRACKS / REMOTE CONTROL)

DIIV is the nom-de-plume of Z. Cole Smith, musical provocateur and front-man of an atmospheric and autumnally-charged new Brooklyn four-piece. Recently inked to the uber-reliable Captured Tracks imprint, DIIV created instant vibrations in the blog-world with their impressionistic debut Sometime; finding it’s way onto the esteemed pages of Pitchfork and Altered Zones a mere matter of weeks after the group’s formation.
THE DELICATES – CHIMERA (INDEPENDENT)

Holding onto surf rock and garage sounds in the lo-fi production and bright guitar melodies, ‘Chimera’ still holds true to the elements that have characterised The Delicates since their formation. A dreamy brand of jangle pop, the rhythms across this latest song have a swing to them that harks back to 50’s rock and roll. Swooping bass lines and the emphasis on the off beat, lend a swaying, slow dance feel.
ASDASFR BAWD – NEGATIVE ENERGY (SOLITAIRE)

There is no original music anymore. For many forward-thinking artists, it’s about having a deep understanding of a certain genre, taking that knowledge and applying it to another. Asdasfr Bawd (pronouced az-das-a-fah bor-d) fits that bill. Half contemporary minimalist classical composer. Half footwork, post dub producer.

Of ‘Negative Energy’, Asdasfr Bawd commented: "A vocal hook to die for, I tried to expose it in a variety of different ways throughout the track to keep the 'energy' flowing constantly, with a pretty spacious climax nearing the end."
CLEOPOLD – SCARLET (DETAIL CO.)

Cleopold is an Australian singer-songwriter whose debut EP has been snapped up by Detail Co., a boutique record label owned and curated by Chet Faker. Having made a name for himself with a run of collaborations, Cleopold’s lead single ‘Down In Flames’ served as his emergence as an independent artist. Now, as he sets off on the road to support Chet Faker’s Built on Live tour, he is readying himself for the release of a second single, ‘Scarlet’.
HARTS – ALL RISE (PLAY IT COOL) (MARSHMALLOW PAVEMENT / OFFTIME MUSIC)

The brand new single from Harts, titled ‘All Rise (Play It Cool)’ is the first single from his forthcoming second album via Marshamallow Pavement Records and Offtime Music, which is due for release in March 2016. The single is a dance-floor, rock ‘n roll and gospel funk infused blend of dirty guitars, funky bass, pounding drums and classic horns – all with an fun and energetic, “Don’t worry about a thing, get up and dance!” summer-jam attitude.
FONTINE – NEW (INDEPENDENT)

On his first offering Fontine commands his deep brooding vocals likened to The National, Nick Cave and Jack Ladder, melded with hauntingly eclectic production inspired by Crystal Castles and Goldfrapp; Fontine’s debut single showcases a unique ability to combine dark sonic textures with pop sensibilities proficiently.
GOOD MORNING – CAB DEG (SOLITAIRE)

'Cad Deg' splendidly displays the growth Good Morning experiences on Glory: it undoes the layers of effects previously heard on Good Morning songs, instead passing a dissonant, yet supremely resonant jangle through little more than hints of delay and reverb. It takes a notably more personal and unguarded approach to dealing with the anxieties that continue to inform the band’s lyrics, letting the guitars speak as deftly as the words.
