US THE BAND - GHOUL (INDEPENDENT)
The Sydney two piece, Us The Band was formed out of a discarded track from their other band when Nick and Jesse tried to salvage something that could work as a two-piece. With the help from Owen Penglis (Straight Arrows) they recorded their soon to be released debut EP ‘But Where Do They Go’ and have played a number of live shows leaving trails of sweaty and exhausted fans behind them. The boys mentioned about ‘Ghoul’, "It’s basically just vague and frustrated complaints. Which is probably the running theme of the EP. This track even pushes the 3 minute mark. Unbelievable, The band is sonically inspired by Cloud Nothings, Hüsker Dü, Thee Oh Sees, and spiritually inspired by Hot Chocolate.
BAD VISIONS- GOONS (ADAGIO 830 RECORDS)
With their brand-new sophomore album ‘Turn Out Your Socks’ being released, the band has showed the incorporation of pop and thrash elements. Krystal Maynard, guitarist of the band has mentioned, “We’re perpetually torn by our pop leanings and wanting to be a thrashy live punk band.” This has surely been made easier for the band with new bassist Alex Pink, originally from bands ‘LOOBS’ and ‘Swank’.
