New music for your ears including Lastlings, Chase City, The Goldhearts, Marcus Whale, Sunflower Bean, Jake Whittaker & more!
LASTLINGS – CHILLS (YOZLYN)

The feeling of being in love is a difficult experience to truly capture in song, but brother-sister duo Lastlings have managed to in the most delicate of ways with their latest single 'Chills'. Amy's echoing, angelic vocals take centre stage, light as a feather and enchanting as a forest fairy. Swelling synths create a dreamscape of electronica, aptly icy and warm all at once - just like the very nature of love itself.
THE GOLDHEARTS – HERE’S THE THING (THE A&R DEPARTMENT)

So here's the thing... The Goldhearts are about to release their second single called ‘Here's the Thing’. "It's short and sharp," says Margy, the singer/guitarist and, "a change in mood from the country swagger of our first single ‘On the Run’”. The track highlights the punchier grittier side of The Goldhearts but with the same hooks and melodies that they are becoming known for as well as saluting the bands of the nineties from where they draw their inspiration.
MARCUS WHALE – IF (DEMO) (GOOD MANNERS / CAROLINE)

“I've always made many different forms of music, never able to feel full allegiance to the pop or electronic or contemporary classical worlds I cut my teeth on. This song, 'If', was the first glimpse I had of music I might make that could marry all of these in one. It was clear after making it that I'd always wanted to follow those impulses”’ – Marcus Whale
SUNFLOWER BEAN – WALL WATCHER (FAT POSSUM)

Sunflower Bean have announced their debut album, “Human Ceremony” with ‘Wall Watcher’; a potent, heady mix of swirling indie pop, urgent, fuzzed-out guitar bliss-laden single.
MEZKO – JOURNEY’S END (STRANGE YONDER)

Kat Harley and Laura Bailey combine nostalgia and futurism with analogue and digital to entangle synths, guitars and bass through pop hooks, kraut beats and expansive arpeggiators to make their very own, distinct, galactic sound.
JAKE WHITTAKER – UNTRUE (INDEPENDENT)

‘Untrue’ sees Jake Whittaker move away from the folk / roots sensibilities of his 2013 debut EP, “Hit The Ground Running” and delve feet first into a bluesy funk cross over. Commanding your attention with growling vocals reminiscent of blues greats, layered with jangly guitar, flights of melodic organ riffs and sultry BV’s complete with a horn section the latest single is indeed a feast for the ears.
BIBIO – PETALS (INERTIA)

Bibio's new single, ‘Petals’ picks up where “Silver” and “Green” left off. The tone is euphoric; synthesized notes wrap an acoustic guitar riff, setting off an airy folk vibe. "Feel all of a sudden, tired and teary-eyed," he sings. "You knew it'd kill you." The song speaks to seeking personal freedom—of breaking away from the city for something remote, of ditching the suit and tie for solitude in grand spaces. While that relates to the human experience, Bibio’s message rings true for the flowers with which he empathizes. We all need a place to meditate and look at the sky.
CHASE CITY – DON’T WAIT (INDEPENDENT)

‘Don’t Wait’ sees a change of sound and direction for Chase City in comparison to their previous material. The band gained a reputation for producing bright alt/pop but the new single showcases a darker, more energetic sound. They spent the past six months writing and recording looking for a more original approach and ‘Don’t Wait’ seems to be just that.
