JOSH RAWIRI - MY CALL (A&R Records)

The last 18 months have seen Josh Rawiri touring with an evolving musical mob, turning heads at popular festivals and crafting a handful of new singles for an upcoming album. Rawiri’s new single “My Call” is an alluring blend of sultry vocals and soulful rock sounds-tackling the brooding themes of temptation, trust, infidelity, touring and long-distance relationships.

“I wrote this song driving late at night, after many weeks on the road away from family. No mobile phone, my only point of contact the odd phone booth - so much relies on trust when you live two separate lives, it’s easy to let our vulnerable imaginations run wild,” says Josh on the story of the track.

THE AVALANCHES - FRANKIE SANATRA (EMI Music Australia)

“What kept us going during the making this record was a belief in the day-to-day experience of music as a life force – as life energy. Hearing a certain song on a certain morning can change your day; it can make the world look different, changing the way you perceive light refracting through the atmosphere for the rest of the afternoon. Literally changing the colour, feeling and tone of your world.”
Robbie Chater, The Avalanches.

It has been announced that July 8th The Avalanches will be releasing Wildflower!
The first single Frankie Sinatra, draws from a variety of eras, cultures and genres, and exemplifies the rich tapestry of samples and sonics that is distinctly The Avalanches. An infectious old world carnival inspired rollercoaster of a song – featuring Danny Brown and MF Doom on vocals, the song also includes works by calypsonian Wilmoth Houdini and Rodgers & Hammerstein.

GUSSY - LOOKING AT MYSELF (Independent)

‘Looking At Myself’ is the debut single from GUSSY. Break ups are so existential these days! The self-produced track and self-directed clip features Sydney’s GUSSY..in their element: Playfully and powerfully deconstructing normative gender and sexual ideals. Dominant/Passive dichotomies, alien psychosexual features.  We believe GUSSY is going to be making waves through the music industry and love seeing artists be outside the box!

BENNY WALKER – OH NO YOU DONT (Remedy Records)

Hailing from regional Victoria, Indigenous singer/songwriter Benny Walker is the real deal. His love songs and epic tales are mixed with passion for the land, the people, summer vibes and deep grooves are the elements that reach the soul.
Latest offering ‘Oh No You Don’t' was written at Walker’s home in Moama and recorded at Way Of The Eagle studios in Melbourne with ARIA Award winning Producer Jan Skubiszewski (The Cat Empire, John Butler Trio, Dan Sultan).
‘Oh No You Don’t’ heralds in a new direction in sound for Benny Walker. Mixing Blues and Roots with a contemporary soul vibe the song sees a strengthening of the vocal and its range.

ELIZABETH ROSE - IN 3'S (Inertia Music)

Elizabeth Rose today shares the newest single from her debut album ‘Intra’ released in March on Midnight Feature/Inertia. Following four previous highly acclaimed singles, and a recent partnership with Google Play to create the first interactive music video of its kind, Elizabeth now gifts us with “In 3’s” – a song from ‘Intra’ that explores her spirituality.

Elizabeth Rose said on the single, "In 3’s is a very special track for me - it’s the only song on the album that reveals my spiritual side. From a young age I was strongly intuitive, having powerful dreams/visions and I still am to this day also a big believer of things happening for reason. I worked with Melbourne producers Damn Moroda on this track and with our powers combined out came In 3’s!"
