It's a brand new week and we've had an influx of new music for your ears!! It was almighty easy to choose the top tunes out within the last week! New material from Husky, These New South Whales and Feist just a name a few, have a browse and a listen:
HUSKY - 'GHOST' (Liberation Music)

Following the release of ‘Late Night Store’ and a sold-out east coast tour, Melbourne duo Husky bring news of their awaited third record Punchbuzz (set for release on June 2), and share new single ‘Ghost’.

Premiered on radio via triple j and online through Clash Magazine, ‘Ghost’ offers a second glimpse of the new album and a freshly evolved, experiential sound. The song details Husky Gawenda and Gideon Preiss’s experiences of life back in Australia after eight months abroad in Europe. Previous single ‘Late Night Store’ is now at two million streams on Spotify.

ROYA - 'A SICKNESS' (Burger Records)

Roya, the poetic Persian name of a little girl, means an ominous dream, a mind trip, a fantasy. Such was the vision lead singer Rahill Jamalifard (of Habibi fame) first had when hatching the idea for the band. A moody and seductive tone set against a primitive and surreal soundscape. Lending its voice to somber echoes and jangles of post punk and psychedelia. How often we wander to the uncomfortable depths of our darker minds, where unanswered questions live, where they stay carefully tucked away, still existing, unaddressed. In Roya, the exploration begins, confronting the fears and realities we struggle with. The mediocrity of life, complacency, death and its undoing’s, life and its great fragility, Roya invades the minds and hearts of its listeners greeting them with unwavering emotion.

THE LUMINEERS - 'ANGELA' (Universal Music Australia)

The multi platinum selling, Denver trio, The Lumineers, are in Australia for their highly anticipated Bluesfest appearance this Easter, as well as side shows in Sydney, Melbourne and Perth

Angela has had over 30M streams and 14M video views.

The Lumineers will be supporting U2 in the U.S this June/July.

After exploding onto the scene with their monster single, the irrepressible, #1 airplay track “Ho Hey”, and its follow-up, “Stubborn Love” The Lumineers spent a solid three years touring six of the seven continents. During that time, the band earned a pair of Grammy nominations (Best New Artist, Best Americana Album), and sold an impressive 3 million units worldwide.

With the help of producer Simone Felice (The Felice Brothers, The Avett Brothers), the band ensconced themselves in Clubhouse, a recording studio high atop a hill in rural Rhinebeck, NY, not far from Woodstock. The Lumineers then set about trying to make musical sense of their three-year-plus rollercoaster ride. Their skill at setting a visual story to music comes through amidst the delicate, deceptively simple acoustic soundscapes.

SLUMBERJACK - 'AFRAID, UNAFRIAD' FT. SYDNEE CARTER (onelove)

Ahead of their Groovin The Moo and Splendour in the Grass slots, and forthcoming national headline tour, of which the Metro Theatre in Sydney sold out almost 2 months in advance, West Australian wizards SLUMBERJACK today drop their newest offering, 'Afraid, Unafraid'.  The second cut from their sophomore EP, Fracture (released 13 April) features rising WA talent and WAM Nominee for Song of the Year, Sydnee Carter , who will sit alongside EP featured vocalists in-demand songstress Vera Blue and KLP.

FEIST - 'CENTURY' (Universal Music Australia)

With “Century,” Pleasure reaches a climax that belies classification. Channeling a dark-night-of-the-soul torment that feels both utterly private and universal in scope, the epic track achieves a theatrical grandeur that peaks with some elegiac spoken word from Jarvis Cocker: “Those nights that never end/When you believe you’ll never see the sunrise again/When a single second feels like a century.”

Pleasure reflects on secrets and shame, loneliness and tenderness, care and fatigue and is at its core a study on self-awareness.

Pleasure finds the four-time Grammy Award nominee again showing the extraordinary depth of her artistry and was co-produced by Feist with longtime collaborators Renaud Letang and Mocky.

THESE NEW SOUTH WHALES - 'WE DON'T NEED YOU ANYMORE' (Independent)

Sydney's favourite punk underdogs These New South Whales today share their new single  'We Don't Need You Anymore', taken off their forthcoming debut LP out in 2017. Recorded in a WWII bunker in Camden, Australia, the one and half minute track follows their previously released single 'Meat Hook' and captures the band at their best; uncensored, angsty and raw.

DEAR SEATTLE - 'THE MEADOWS' (Independent)

Sydney's Dear Seattle are here to serve you up with a broad spectrum of headbanging, beer-in-the-sky melodic indie rock with their new single "The Meadows". The first track off their upcoming EP, Dear Seattle are made unique by their high impact sing-along choruses reminiscent of early 90's grunge in a similar vein of Aussie favourites Violent Soho, Luca Brasi, Tired Lion, and British India.

The four piece have spent the last couple of years honing their signature sound following the prior release of their debut EP "Words Are Often Useless" and a split-release with Melbourne based act Fresh Nelson. Having now evolved their style, and had a slight line-up change, the band is seeing incredible traction following the release of the first single and video for "The Meadows" off their upcoming sophomore EP.

BOSS HOG - '10, 17' (In The Red Records)

After too many years of dormancy, New York City’s glorious garage-noise mutants Boss Hog are back, with their first studio album in 17 years Brood X, out April 7 via the almighty In The Red Records.

Led by Cristina Martinez (ably assisted by her faithful sideman/husband Jon Spencer, as ever playing Flavor Flav to Cristina’s Chuck D), Brood X feels less like the work of a group who’ve been on ice for so long, more a slithering and sludgy monster of an album, a boiling pot of hot funk keys, growling punk attack, searing blues breaks and the ground-shaking holler of Martinez (ex-Pussy Galore).
