HOLY HOLY - ELEVATOR (Wonderlick Entertainment)

Currently mid-national tour, Holy Holy have today revealed details of their sophomore LP alongside the announcement of their new single, Elevator (out today).  Their anticipated new album will be titled Paint, and is set for release on February 24, 2017.  Buoyed by arpeggiated synths and the band’s classic driving guitar lines, a nostalgic yet contemporary feel and a chorus that will not leave your head, Elevator propels even further into exploratory territory.  Vast and satisfying, with a clear, affecting narrative, Elevator is an exciting taste of Holy Holy’s enigmatic new album expected to drop in early 2017.

Lead guitarist Oscar Dawson reflects on the writing process of the track, “I can’t recall how it germinated, but before we knew it we were playing this same two chords, over and over.  And it built from there, like a conversation; starting softly, then bouncing around to become louder and louder… It had been caught on a phone when we were touring in Europe, and back in Australia we put it together and decided that, in fact, it is a song.”

THE JAPANESE HOUSE - LEON (Sony Music Australia)

The Japanese House
has released ‘Leon’, the final track from their SWIM AGAINST THE TIDE EP, which is out today via Dirty Hit and Sony Music Entertainment Australia. Following ‘Face Like Thunder’, ‘Swim Against the Tide’ and ‘Good side in’, ‘Leon’ is the final track to surface from the third EP release, which is arguably The Japanese House’s most pioneering work to date.Accompanying the release, it has also been announced that The Japanese House will be the special guest to The 1975 on their UK arena tour in December 2016, which includes two nights at The 02 Arena in London.
KING GIZZARD & THE LIZARD WIZARD - RATTLESNAKE (Remote Control)

Rattlesnake' is the first track available from Flying Microtonal Banana, the band’s first LP of 2017 to be released on Friday 24th February via Flightless / Remote Control Records. The Melbourne-based band plan to release five studio albums in 2017, an ambitious feat as each record will be its own unique sonic adventure.

Flying Microtonal Banana is King Gizzard’s first-ever experience in microtonal tuning, which features intervals smaller than a semitone and not found in customary Western tuning octaves.

“Earlier this year we started experimenting with a custom microtonal guitar our friend Zak made for Stu,” explains drummer Eric Moore. “The guitar was modified to play in 24-TET tuning and could only be played with other microtonal instruments. We ended up giving everyone a budget of $200 to buy instruments and turn them microtonal. The record features the modified electric guitars, basses, keyboards and harmonica as well as a turkish horn called a Zurna."
NEIL YOUNG - SHOW ME (Warner Bros Records)

Neil Young will release a brand new studio album, entitled Peace Trail, on December 9th via Reprise Records.  Peace Trail features all new songs that Young wrote since the release of his album EARTH, this past June. This new album is primarily acoustic and reflects an intimate, sparse approach to each of the ten songs within.

“Neil Young matches the fire in his belly to the poetry from his pen for one of the most gripping outings of his long career. This riveting collection, a spare acoustic-electric hybrid, seethes with righteous indignation over a plethora of social and political injustices, but also soothes with deeply felt empathy for those on the receiving end of iniquity." - Los Angeles Times / Randy Lewis

THE JENSENS - EVERYBODY TALKS (Dew Process)

“The Jensens are told to have one of the best live performances and atmospheres there are. You don’t wanna miss these guys, they’re gonna be something special” – Hhhhappy

Since their formation in 2013, Brisbane five piece The Jensens have provided us with rage-worthy tunes that have been played long into the early morning all over the country! With their unmistakable sleek vintage undertones, infused with modern surf rock swagger, The Jensens today announce a brand new single (not to be confused with their previous EP) ‘Everybody Talks’ and two shows in Sydney and Melbourne.  The single is the first taste of the lads’ follow-up EP, which is set for release early next year.

The Jensens are: Bodi Lowrie (Bass) Joe White (Vocals/keys/guitar) Jordan Aston (Guitar) Phillip Fabros (Drums) Nathan Kendall (Vocals/guitar)

THE XX - ON HOLD (Remote Control)

The xx today announce details of their highly anticipated third album. Titled I See You, the ten song album will be released on Friday 13th January 2017 via Young Turks / Remote Control Records. I See You is the follow up to The xx’s two previous albums – xx and Coexist – which have sold over 3 million copies between them, winning a host of accolades along the way.

I See You marks a new era for the London trio of Romy Madley Croft, Oliver Sim and Jamie Smith, both sonically and in terms of process.  For while xx and Coexist were both made in relative isolation in London, I See You was recorded between March 2014 and August 2016 in New York, Marfa TX, Reykjavik, Los Angeles and London, and is characterised by a more outward-looking, open and expansive approach.  Produced by Jamie Smith and Rodaidh McDonald, I See You is The xx at their boldest yet, performing with more clarity and ambition than ever before.
MILKY CHANCE - CACOON (Universal Music)

All good fairy tales need a sequel, which is why on November 11th, Milky Chance are set to return spectacularly with new track Cocoon, which arguably doubles as their most infectious yet.
Following up from one of the most successful debut albums of 2014 ‘Sadnecessary’, The German duo, comprised of Clemens Rehbein and Philipp Dausch, have created a captivating track that combines reggae, house, flamenco, pop, folk and singer-songwriter elements. As its name and sound implies, Cocoon brings forth a palpable sense of returning to a place of serenity, or in Clemens own words; “trying to find a place where you can be yourself and not be distracted; to slow down and reflect on yourself”.

The ingenious element in their music lies exactly in this combination of the deep, organic warmth of the instrumental arrangements with Clemens Rehbein’s raw, raspy voice. When Clemens sings, you feel like escaping, and, more than anything, traveling the world with Milky Chance. They write music that defies the saying “the sky's the limit” – yet at the same time, remaining true to themselves and their origins.

VANCOUVER SLEEP CLINIC - SOMEONE TO STAY (Sony Music Australia)

‘Someone To Stay is the third single from Australian band Vancouver Sleep Clinic’s forthcoming debut album. Vancouver Sleep Clinic, led by singer, songwriter and producer Tim Bettinson, is currently on their first-ever North American tour. The band is supporting Daughter on select dates and will play their first U.S. headline shows at San Francisco’s Rickshaw Stop on November 28 and Los Angeles’ Bootleg Theatre on November 29.  After crafting demos in his home studio, Bettinson travelled to Los Angeles and enlisted the help of producer Al Shux, who has produced hits for Jay Z, Lana Del Rey, Alicia Keys and Lianne La Havas. The band will also embark on an Australian tour this December:
