LEHMANN B. SMITH - 'THUS MUST RUST' (Bedroom Suck/Remote Control Records)
Debut single from Lehmann B Smith's seventh full-length album, 'Poplar Music', available from 25 May 2018. Apparently this track is 10 long years of hard work and 5 more years of recording. It is the perfect concept "unraveling like a rock classicist's apocalyptic fever dream." COURTNEY BARNETT - NEED A LITTLE TIME (Remote Control Records) Courtney Barnett today releases 'Need A Little Time', the sublime second single from her highly anticipated album Tell Me How You Really Feel. The lyricism in this track is beyond powerful and so relatable. Once again she has proved herself to be impeccable. 'Need A Little Time' is accompanied by a wondrous video by Barnett’s frequent visual collaborator Danny Cohen. Cohen says "Need A Little Time has this soaring, floating feeling to it. I decided to play on the meaning of the song, Courtney needs some time away from herself (and you). I didn’t want to show Courtney leaving her friends/family/fans etc, it needed to be more metaphorical. Courtney floats through space and time, ends up in some isolated part of the universe. She finally has found some time alone, just Courtney and her guitar, singing in space without a care in the world. FLOWERTRUCK - COME ACROSS (Spunk Records) Flowertruck dance on the precipice of an ebullient pop gem and the casual cruelty of suburban heartbreak in second single 'Come Across'- the closing track lifted from their debut LP Mostly Sunny, out March 16 via Spunk Records. BAD PONY - KNIFE (INDEPENDENT)
Back with this punching song, Bad Pony have released 'Knife'. After a very successful South By Southwest the band has come out guns blazing and this track is a great example of whats yet to come.
LITICS - EXCUSE GENERATOR
“Excuse Generator” is the digital audio debut from Portland, OR punk group Lithics, following four sold-out pressings of their 2016 vinyl only album Borrowed Floors. Lithics exist in a nervous fragmented world, a propulsive futuristic hell and we love it!
