it's that time again where we have the hard time of picking just 8 New Music Releases, when theres so much goodness coming into the station every week! This week we have tracks from Matt Corby, Good Boy, Seekae & More
CHASE CITY - SURROUNDED (Independent)

Following on from relentlessly traversing the countryside and releasing a slew of standout songs, Hobart-based indie-pop quartet, Chase City have just announced East Coast tour dates and returned with new single ‘Surrounded’ - Recorded and produced by ARIA award-winningproducer, Lachlan ‘Magoo’ Goold (The Jungle Giants, Art Vs. Science, Regurgitator).

Meticulously crafted instrumentation is melded with the unique and endearing vocal croons of front man, Tarik Stonemen to deliver an exciting take on modern indie-pop, which recalls the vibe of the group’s staple influences such as The Wombats, Hot Chip and The Rapture.
MATT CORBY - EMPIRES ATTRACTION (Universal Music)

‘Empires Attraction’ is the final track on Matt Corby’s #1 ARIA debut album ‘Telluric’, which has received critical acclaim both locally and overseas, with Q magazine calling it a ‘remarkable debut’ and Triple J saying Matt had cemented “himself as one of the country’s finest songwriters.’

’Empires Attraction’ is about how no one person will ever make a massive change,we’ve been fooled into believing we should be comfortable, that we shouldn’t do anything about how things are or try and fix it."

Matt spent 2016 touring ‘Telluric’, with sold out shows across UK and Europe, USA and Canada, Australia and New Zealand including three sold out shows at Sydney's Enmore Theatre. Matt and the band have just returned from playing festivals worldwide including appearances at Glastonbury, Wilderness, Pukkelpop, Lowlands, Cloud Nine and a recent headline performance at this year's Splendour in the Grass
.

CRYSTAL CITIES - GOOD LIFE (Independent)

GOOD LIFE is the third single we have seen in 2016 from Sydney based trio Crystal Cities and it is undoubtedly their best work yet. ‘Good Life’ oozes with dreamy vocals and lush, psychedelic textures, that’s reminiscent of 80's Manchester scene that saw the birth of amazing bands such as The Stone Roses and The Charlatans, whilst echoing the age old sentiment that life is short. “I don’t wanna die, waiting on the good life” the lyrics are strong, the message is clear and the vibe is infectiously happy. As described by front man Geoff Rana “Good life is a call out to start living in the present, choose now don't wait another minute”

GOOD BOY - S.O.G.K (Independent)

Break-out Bigsound three-piece Good Boy are today excited to announce their new single ‘S.O.G.K’, which is the second single off the new EP ‘Plum’ and is out today. The EP was mixed and mastered by Mikey Young (Eddy Current Suppression Ring / Total Control) and includes the highly infectious single ‘Poverty Line’ which has been supported by Triple J as well as airplay across community stations 4ZZZ, RTR, RRR and FBi.

‘S.O.G.K’ is a track that makes a stance on the bands views on the freedom of religion, packed into another garage-pop dole-wave gem. In discussing the main theme of the new single front-man Rian King explains, "I'm for freedom, total freedom including the right to freely practice religion. But if anyone was to ask me on my views regarding religion, I'll tell you it’s all a big waste of time. I really don't like being preached to. That’s pretty much it. Yeah”.

Good Boy will hit the road to support the release with the backing of a hype-induced Bigsound week under their belts, with outlets like Tone Deaf, The Music and Musicfeeds naming Good Boy one of the hottest acts to come out of the festival this year.

THUNDAMENTALS - NEVER SAY NEVER (Universal Music)

Blue Mountains via Newtown hip-hop heroes Thundamentals, have emerged from the studio with a brand new offering in the form of their latest single Never Say Never. Never Say Never is the second taste of new music this year from Thundamentals. The new single follows on from Late Nights, which the band premiered on Blue Mountains Community Radio.

“slow-burn success has suddenly become white-hot”- SMH
“Thundamentals are on top of the world” – Project U
“Sydney hip hop trio Tundamentals bounces into the big time” The Australian

TEGAN & SARA - STOP DESIRE (Warner Music Australia)

Tegan and Sara released their new album Love You To Death earlier this year. The album includes their new single Stop Desire. Love You To Death is the follow up to Tegan and Sara’s pop breakthrough album Heartthrob, which featured the singles Closer, which was certified gold in the US, and I Was A Fool. In addition to this, the band was featured on the LEGO Movie single Everything Is Awesome with The Lonely Island, and were invited to perform the song as part of the 2015 Oscar telecast.

WARPAINT - WHITEOUT (Remote Control Records)

Warpaint have shared their second single 'Whiteout', taken from their upcoming highly anticipated third album Heads Up, out this Friday 23rd September via Rough Trade Records / Remote Control.

Heads Up was recorded after the band spent 2015 apart working on solo projects and their own endeavors. Reuniting in January of this year, the band invited producer Jacob Bercovici—with whom they had worked on their debut EP Exquisite Corpse—into their House on the Hill studio in Downtown Los Angeles to begin work on the new LP. For the first time ever, the band recorded in pairs and alone rather than as a full band, allowing for a new creative freedom.

SEEKAE - TURBINE BLUE (Future Classic)

In a striking step beyond The Worry, the band explore new sonic territory with ‘Turbine Blue’, to create their most confident, honest and direct work to date.

Distinctively Seekae, the track is original in sound and risk-taking in its production. The song was composed and recorded in Berlin's ‘Funkhaus Studio’ in the early stages of winter. The vocal was delivered after eating a pizza microwaved at a petrol station and carried back to the studio through the rain.
Through 80’s and 90’s Korg synthesisers, Turbine Blue provides a mid-tempo, melancholic, drone-like progression that serves to uplift in the face of isolation and loneliness - a Seekae staple. A siren's tune, Turbine Blue moves towards something blissful and agonising, like the cyclical nature of love, departing and arriving, hurting and pleasing all in one act.
Turbine Blue is a confessionary love song. Full of hope but laced with the sheer dizzying heights of the risks involved in a confession
