VERGE COLLECTION - POSTCODES (Independent)

Following witty suburban singles 'Our Place' & 'Class of '09'this is a song about falling in love at your local IGA. Verge Collection play BIGSOUND in September with EP on the way. Hailing from the infamously fertile musical landscape of Perth, Western Australia  VERGE COLLECTION expertly balance classic pop sensibilities and working class poetry to channel the collective conscious of suburban Australia milennials. Following the success of their debut  single ‘Our Place’

CITY CALM DOWN - IN A RESTLESS HOUSE (I Oh You)

Coming hot off the back of a huge show on Splendour in the Grass’ amphitheatre stage, City Calm Down are pleased to present their new single ‘In A Restless House’ – which is also the title track from their critically acclaimed debut album. It’s fair to say that 2016 has certainly been a big one for the four friends from Melbourne who make up City Calm Down. Having released their debut album late last year, the band have seemingly leaped into the hearts and stereos of critics and fans alike around not only Australia but the world – this response has seen CCD playing sold out headline shows all over Australia and in London, while also appearing at festivals such as Splendour in the Grass, The Great Escape (UK) and Falls Festival.

As they now gear up for their biggest headline tour to date, City Calm Down continue their strong form with the single ‘In A Restless House’. The song twists and turns as his bandmates form the perfect back bone for Jack Bourke’s immediately recognisable trademark baritone vocals until crescendoing in an ecstasy filled balloon of pop bliss.

THE PREATURES - I KNOW A GIRL (Universal Music Australia)

Fresh off the heels of their unforgettable set at Splendour In The Grass Festival, The Preatures have returned with the official release of their brand new single ‘I Know A Girl’. Performed live for the first time in front of an electrifying crowd at the GW McLennan tent at SITG, ‘I Know A Girl’ was premiered yesterday on Triple J and is available to stream or download from here.
"I know a girl is about the sisterhood, girls' relationships and how they talk about each other" said Isabella of the track.

Written by front woman Isabella Manfredi and lead guitarist Jack Moffitt, ‘I Know A Girl’ tilts its hat to the 80’s & 90’s while landing its feet firmly in the now. Produced and mixed by the talented Moffitt and recorded at The Preatures studio in Hibernian House in Surry Hills, ‘I Know A Girl’ is a welcomed return of one of the country’s most exhilarating bands.

SLOTFACE - TAKE ME DANCING (Propeller Recordings)

Unapologetically rawk, beguilingly badass and fortuitously feminist – this is what we know and love of SLØTFACE, but it ain’t all rights-fighting and anti-fjord-mining for these Norwegian twenteens. Sometimes you just need to cheers up, guzzle down and have a bloody good dance.

And while new single ‘Take Me Dancing’ seems comparatively light to pummeling predecessor ‘Sponge State’, it’s not without SLØTFACE’s signature snarl: “Some people were skeptical of us releasing a song about dancing and getting drunk because they felt like it made us ‘less believable feminists’, but that is kind of the whole point of this song,” explains vocalist Haley Shea. “The feminism we have faith in is all about individualism and being free to be yourself regardless of gender. Yes, we believe in equal rights for all genders, but we also like partying and drinking and sometimes we make mistakes, and that’s OK.”

BERNARD FANNING - WASTING TIME (Dew Process)

“Sometimes, particular decisions appear to be the most sensible or realistic path to take. A civil, pragmatic compromise. But the passage of time reveals those decisions to have been flawed and to have far deeper and wide ranging consequences than predicted at the time.  We all live with the consequences of our decisions but have daily things to attend to.” Bernard Fanning.  And thus we have Civil Dusk, the new album set for release August 5th which is the third studio album for the multi-award winner.

CANARY - CHAMELEON (Independent)

The new record has again been mixed and mastered by Canary bassist Isaac Barter and the band have collaboratively worked together to self produce what will be their second album. With the collective having recently supported Saskwatch, as well as the likes of other Melbourne based favourites; Ainslie Wills, Hein Cooper and LANKS, the group are to grace the stage in August for their headline East Coast „I Am Lion‟ Tour. Chameleon is the last track of the breakup album I am Lion .

WARPAINT - NEW SONG (Rough Trade Records/Remote Control)

Warpaint are pleased to announce their third studio album Heads Up will be released via Rough Trade Records / Remote Control on Friday 23 September. Today the band have shared the first single from the album titled ‘New Song’. The band spent much of 2015 doing solo projects before coming back together to create Heads Up

"The doors were a little more open in terms of what was accepted and what wasn’t, because we were sharing ideas so rapidly between us” says the band drummer Stella Mozgawa of the recording process."Everybody was allowed to have their space, time and creative freedom with songs and figure out, ‘I wonder what the best notes would be? I wonder what the best would be to play?” says bassist Jenny Lee Lindberg “Everybody got to sit and go, “What do I want to do to this? What’s my part? What’s My Role? How can I make it the best?”

This track definitely get's stuck in your head and after having a sneak listen to the album, we know its going to be a goodie!

THE ASTON SHUFFLE - MAKE A WRONG THING RIGHT FT MICAH POWELL (OneLove)

Canberra natives, The Aston Shuffle have released their new single ‘Make A Wrong Thing Right’ featuring the vocals of renowned U.S singer/songwriter Micah Powell. Created between Melbourne, New York and Maderas Village in Nicaragua, the duo collaborated with composer and vocalist Micah Powell, whose writing credits include Drake and Chris Brown, as well as collaborations with Jamie Foxx, Paul Oakenfold and Marques Houston.

The boys are currently in LA and will be playing Cream Festival on the 27th of August back in Canberra.
