LASTLINGS - YOU (Independent)

Off the back of a stellar support tour with French synth-pop luminary M83, Melbourne based songwriter, producer and multi instrumentalist, Gab Strum aka Japanese Wallpaper, reveals his latest track "Cocooon" out now on Zero Through Nine via Inertia Music. Declared NME's New Music Of the Day, "Cocoon" is the first track since his  self titled EP, and in now way departs from his cool translucent signature style.

This time round, Strum lends his own deep and raw vocals to the single, which adds a sincerity to the tenderness of the track and its subject. This is the first time Gab has recorded his own vocals and after singing and perfecting his live shows the last few years, recording his vocals was the logical step in his next musical venture.

BURN ANTARES - YOUNG GUN (Rare Finds)

Following on from their critically appraised EP ‘Fur Coat and the Peace Boat’, Sydney psych-rock group, Burn Antares, step in a new exciting direction with their latest single ‘Young Gun’. The band had a stellar 2015 performing around Sydney, with capacity headline shows and support slots with The Growlers, The Murlocs and Deep Sea Arcade, as well as playing the sold-out Lost Paradise festival.

Veteran producer Tony Buchen (Montaigne, The Preatures and Megan Washington) recorded‘Young Gun’ in Sydney’s Rancom Studios. The track melds retro-pop with modern indie-rock, drawing listeners in with their intricately layered hooks and melodies, taking cues from David Bowieand The Preatures. Burn Antares are set to launch ‘Young Gun’ at the upcoming Rare Finds #15 event on June 24th atOAF Gallery Bar in Darlinghurst and in the coming weeks will unveil the accompanying music video.

LANKS - BITTER LEAF (Independent)

Currently supporting future-soul queen Ngaiire on her national album tour, producer and multi-instrumentalist LANKS has delivered yet again, releasing new single ‘Bitter Leaf.’ The track follows single and video ‘Golden Age,’ which hit  #11 in the HypeMachine charts, accumulated close to one million Spotify streams and received reworks from rising electronic talents Wayfarer//,

Godwolf and GHOST TONE. LANKS’ latest offering also follows his successful east coast single tour earlier this year, which included a sold-out Melbourne hometown date.

ALLEN STONE - LOVE (ATO Records)

Seattle’s Allen Stone has revealed the release of his brand new single ‘Love’, taken from his third full-length albumRadius (Deluxe Edition) – out now through ATO Records. The new single – the follow-up to ‘Perfect World’, which was added to Double J and heard on ABC Local Radio, 2SER and community stations across Australia – highlights the songwriter’s knack for addictive pop melodies and heartfelt vocals, a skill which won over Australian fans far and wide during his visit down under for Bluesfest in March 2016, as well as his headline shows at The Corner Hotel (Melbourne) and The Factory Theatre (Sydney).

Soul musician Stone proves himself deeply devoted to making uncompromisingly soulful music that transcends all pop convention. Made in close collaboration with Swedish soul singer/songwriter/phenom Magnus Tingsek and producers Benny Cassette (Kanye West) and Malay (Frank Ocean), Radius (Deluxe Edition) captures the warm energy of that creative connection and transports the listener to a higher and more exalted plane.

YEO - GOT NO GAME (Sabremetric)

Yeo is pleased to announce his latest single Got No Game. As the follow up single to Icarus and Quiet Achiever, Got No Game will be accompanied by a music video directed by Yeo, previously unreleased B-side Labour Party, and an East Coast tour presented by themusic and 123 Agency.

Following performances at Ship-Wrecked! Music Festival, Big Pineapple Music Festival, completing his Ganbaru national tour presented by triple j and performing triple j Like A Version, Yeo will headline his final shows for the year, hitting dates in Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane.

BERNARD FANNING - WASTING TIME (Universal Music Australia)

‘Wasting Time’ the first single from Civil Dusk, Bernard Fanning’s upcoming third solo album, is a piano driven anthem with an undercurrent of unease, a song that stands alone to both warm your heart, then break it, all at once. Displaying an odd sort of perfection, ‘Wasting Time’ is an insight into the blindness that obsession brings, and the resulting realisation that what was once an imperative need, is fast becoming a disposable one when a little distance is applied.

Written in Spain during a reflective period in his life, Fanning’s unmistakable voice is in fine form, accompanied with spacious instrumentation, his instantly recognisable style is anchored with a strong chorus and a hint of melancholy.

BADBADNOTGOOD FEATURING KAYTRANADA- LAVENDER (INTERTIA MUSIC)

Toronto's BADBADNOTGOOD have shared a delightful new track called "Lavender" that they made with their dear friend Kaytranada. The track evolves as it goes — there are three or four acts — but it is held together by boingy synths, an off-kilter sax line, and an easy-going groove. It's a little bit psychedelic and kind of jazzy, too.

"We made 'Lavender' amongst many other songs and samples with Kaytranada in our home studio, Studio 69," BBNG told The FADER in an email. "Kay started the idea as a beat with our drum breaks and some synth melodies. Then we recut the drums and synth to formulate a song with more sections. Kay came back to Toronto and gave us that hot lead melody as well as percussion and we all finalized the arrangement. It's an incredible honour to call Kay a close friend of ours; he is a talent like no other."
