TORA - 'AMSTERDAM' (Lustre)
Tora reveal their intricate new single 'Amsterdam' which will be released today, 17 March, with their debut album slated for release later this year. Layered, lush and hauntingly beautiful ‘Amsterdam’ was self-produced by the band, before being mastered by Grammy nominated engineer Andrei Eremin. ‘Amsterdam’ continues on from previous singles ‘Poly Amor’ and ‘Twice’, and EP’s Eat the Sun and the self-titled Tora, all of which have amassed a combined 20 million online streams. AMY SHARK - 'WEEKENDS' (Sony Music Australia/Wonderlick) Amy Shark’s highly anticipated single, ‘Weekends’, was produced by Dan Hume (Matt Corby, Daniel Johns, Courtney Barnett) and is available as an instant grat when pre-ordering the 6 track NIGHT THINKER EP. The new single follows on from the enormous success of Amy’s breakout track, ‘Adore’,which has now officially surpassed 10 million streams on Spotify. ‘Adore’ was placed #2 on Triple J’s Hottest 100, peaked at #3 on the ARIA chart, #1 on the Australian iTunes Chart, #1 on the Australian Shazam Chart and #5 on the Australian Spotify chart. The brooding, coming-of-age track is also short-listed for the Top 20 APRA Song Of The Yearand is officially accredited with Platinum sales in Australia. KASABIAN - 'YOU'RE IN LOVE WITH A PSYCHO' (Sony Music Australia) Kasabian are back with an explosive, career best album brimming with confidence, swagger and huge tunes, ‘For Crying Out Loud’ is out April 28. First single ‘You’re In Love With A Psycho’ is a big, fat pop song with an irrepressible hook and is available now. The band were in Australia earlier this month playing two sold out Sydney Opera House shows to critical acclaim. Kasabian have four UK #1 albums to their name and have sold over 5.5 million albums worldwide. They’ve won a Brit, seven NME awards, four Q Awards and have headlined Glastonbury Festival, as well as V Festival, T in the Park, and numerous festivals worldwide. JONTI FT STEVE LACY (THE INTERNET) - 'SCROOD' (Future Classic) Gifted multi-instrumentalist, arranger, producer, and vocalist as well as touring member of The Avalanches, Jonti today returns with his first new solo material in 5 years. Featuring Steve Lacy from The Internet, ‘Scrood’ joins the news the Sydney-based producer has signed with acclaimed Australian label Future Classic in partnership with LA tastemakers Stones Throw Records. The single follows his 2011 debut album Twirligig and 2012 follow up Sine and Moon. GARY CLARK JR - 'THE HEALING' (Warner Music Australia) The album includes all new and unreleased live recordings from Gary Clark Jr’s 2016 tour in support of his internationally acclaimed 2015 album The Story of Sonny Boy Slim. It features several songs from that album, including “The Healing,” “Grinder,” “Our Love,” “Cold-Blooded,” and“Shake,” featuring Leon Bridges and his saxophonist Jeff Dazey. The set is characterized by raw soul and funk, classic solo and blues performances, and several lengthy, tour de force guitar jams. It includes two previously unreleased covers, Jimmy Reed’s “Honest I Do” and Elmore James’ “My Baby’s Gone” as well as “You Saved Me” and “When My Train Pulls In”— fan favorites from Clark’s Warner Bros. ASGEIR - 'STARDUST' (Pod) Ásgeir has shared brand new single "Stardust", taken from his highly anticipated and daringly electronic second album Afterglow. "Stardust" follows on from the album's first single "Unbound", Afterglow has all the confident hallmarks of an artist who’s now at home with his status as one of music’s most exciting new voices. “I consider myself lucky to have been able to go around the world with my friends to play,” Ásgeir says. LIFE IS BETTER BLONDE - 'FIRES' (Create/Control)
“Fires is an empty threat break up. The words are said, but the meaning isn't, both parties know that it's not for real” says LIFE IS BETTER BLONDE. The track premiered via the airwaves on triple j’s Home & Hosed show and the clip online via tastemakers Hilly Dilly. Consumed by a virtual reality set in a reimagined 1950s, a player’s longing for motherhood transcends the rules of the game. The stunning video was directed by Natalie Erika James and Ben Morgan, the team behind his earlier clips Mine and Follow Me.
