Whaddddddda weeek full of goodies, new tracks that is, and all of the artists are Australian so that's even coooler. New material from Gold Coast locals Ivey, and beautiful ladies Iluka and Kita Alexander.
IVEY - 'LAST WEEK' (Independent)

Unabashedly fronted by Millie, (16) Lachlan (19) and backed by Matthew (17) and Dante (20) filling out the rhythm, Ivey hit home with their passionate pursuit for danceable indie tunes. The young purveyors of songwriting craft sounds that far exceeds their aptitude and 'Last Week' is no different.

Highly infectious and executed so effortlessly, 'Last Week' is a massive, mature leap in terms of resonance for the group. Once again produced by George Carpenter (Waxhead, Jimmy the Saint & the Sinners, Karl S. Williams), acts as a quip to anyone who's fallen in love in mere hours. Shimmering guitars, hooks-a-plenty and the distinctive duo harmonies of Millie and Lachlan power this song through its breezy four minutes.

ILUKA - 'BLUE JEAN BABY' (Independent)

After making waves with her singles 'Paper Doll' and '12th Of July', wild-at-heart globetrotter ILUKAreleases her anthemic folk-pop single 'Blue Jean Baby', and today announces the impending release of her EP Blue My Soul on Friday February 17.

Youthful and wistful, 'Blue Jean Baby' aspires to a life beyond a small-town existence. Alternating between debonair bouyancy and vivacious urgency, the track sees ILUKA finding release in personal freedom and the open road. Produced by Jean-Paul Fung (Jinja Safari, Bluejuice, Last Dinosaurs), 'Blue Jean Baby' wears its heart stitched proudly to its sleeve, liberated by a future of unbridled wayfaring.

THUNDAMENTALS - 'THINK ABOUT IT' (Universal Music)

Currently in the middle of a sold out national tour, Thundamentals have dropped new single Think About It. Says Tuka, “For me, it's a song about falling in love with a very powerful woman and allowing her to see your vulnerabilities. Also, it's about understanding that everyone feels lonely at some point in their life, in that regard all we can do is feel like everyone else.”

Thundamentals Jeswon says; “This song is our way of reminding the listener that despite that feeling of isolation that we all inevitably feel at some stage in our lives, we are never alone and there are a million other people feeling exactly the same way. For us there is a tremendous sense of comfort in knowing that our experiences of love, loss and sadness are all universal emotions and that we’re all in it together, on a rock orbiting a ball of flaming hydrogen.”

KITA ALEXANDER - 'DAMAGE DONE' (Warner Music Australia)

‘Damage Done’
focuses on a more full-band sound for Kita Alexander and follows her popular tracks ‘My Own Way,’ ‘Like You Want To’ and ‘Plain Sight’ (which has had nearly 14 million streams on Spotify).

2016 has been a special year for Kita Alexander; Touring off the back of the ‘Like You Want To’ EP with Matt Corby and playing select shows with Angus and Julia Stone, Kita Alexander has also been writing and recording with Dann Hume; of which the sessions for ‘Damage Done’ were born.

Look out for new music from Kita Alexander early 2017.

XAVIER DUNN - 'GIVE IN' FEAT AIRLING (GOLDEN VESSEL REMIX) (1825 Records)

Multi-instrumentalist, producer and singer-songwriter Dunn, was raised in a musical family and started classical training at an early age.  Dunn became fluent in piano, guitar, drums and double bass and later on in classical double bass which lent themselves to his diverse song-writing. After stints in several cities across Australia throughout his young adult life, Dunn moved to Sydney in 2014 and eagerly embraced the music scene. Laying down toplines and remixes for other Sydney artists, he developed a love of collaboration, absorbing new tastes from his collaborators and sharing his with them.

ROLLING BLACKOUTS FEVER -'JULIE'S PLACE' (Sub Pop)

After releasing their highly acclaimed debut EP Talk Tight in 2015, that left the likes of Pitchfork and Stereogum feeling warm and fuzzy, Rolling Blackouts Coastal Fever return with brand new single ‘Julie’s Place’ and news that they’ve inked a world-wide (ex AU/NZ) deal with iconic US label Sub Pop.

Premiering over at Stereogum right now, ‘Julie’s Place’ is packed with the driving rhythms that trademarked the songs on Talk Tight. A mash of sprinting guitars mimic singer Fran Keaney’s pangs of heartache, his awkwardly sensual lyrics calling to mind the chaotic confusion of being around someone you can’t get off your mind.

SEEKAE - 'TURBINE BLUE' (Future Classic)

Seekae have today unveiled the official remix package for their single 'Turbine Blue'; a four track selection of previously unheard reworks from some of the most exciting names in the electronic music landscape. Out now on Future Classic, the single marks the first release of new material from the group since 2014.

Seekae recently shared their Kris Moyes directed video for 'Turbine Blue', which follows seven figures along the canals of Sixth Street. This was the last video to be shot under the iconic bridge, made famous by classic films such as Grease and Terminator 2, before it was officially closed and demolished

VALLIS ALPS - 'FADING' (DistroKid)

Vallis Alps have returned with their colorful new single, ‘Fading’. The track is taken from their forthcoming Fable EP, set for independent release in 2017. 'Fading' captures the tenderness and warmth of Parissa Tosif's vocals over effortless, soaring production by David Ansari to create an infectiously uplifting track.

Vallis Alps say of the track, “We wanted to make a song that was about pure joy; those moments where you feel exhilarated and ecstatic. Encapsulating that feeling ended up being harder than we thought, because as humans we are constantly bombarded with the realities of life around us. In the end, we realised that sometimes joy comes from trying to see things in a new way or from a different angle. We want 'Fading' to make people happy; to be an escape from the negativity that surrounds us and a reminder of the beauty that is always present - but sometimes hidden.”
