POND - 'PAINT ME SILVER' (Emi Music Australia/Spinning Top Records)

Paint Me Silver is the second official single from POND’s forthcoming album The Weather, released May 5. Featuring vocals from Kirin J Callinan, it follows on from debut single Sweep Me Off My Feet plus album tracks 30000 Megatons and The Weather available now. Pond will play their second 2017 Coachella slot this weekend before heading off on a USA/ Canada headline tour. The band have also been confirmed for Primavera, Summersonic Japan, Reading & Leads + Governors Ball NYC & Splendour In The Grass.

CHASTITY BELT - 'CAUGHT IN A LIE' (Hardly Art)

Upon their return from playing a number of showcases at this year’s SXSW, Chastity Belt has now shared the second single off forthcoming album, “Caught in a Lie”. The track maintains the reflective, cathartic and poignant tone as previous single “Different Now”. I Used to Spend So Much Time Alone, the highly-anticipated third studio album from the Seattle four piece, is out Friday June 2 on Hardly Art via Inertia Music.

BRIGHTNESS - 'WALTZ' (I Oh You)

'Waltz’ is a teaser track from Brightness’ forthcoming debut record and follows his debut single ‘Oblivion’. ‘Waltz’ is a song of love and gratitude. My friend Alex (Crosby) and I experimented using an old Akai 1/4” Reel to Reel for this song. The tape itself had just about had it and you can hear another song bleeding through from one of its other tracks. It’s made up of one uninterrupted take using a single microphone, along with a mellotron part for the choruses that I overdubbed later,” says Alex. Brightness supported Middle Kids over the weekend at two sold out Oxford Art Factory’s. Details of his forthcoming debut album will be revealed soon.

TASH SULTANA - 'MURDER TO THE MIND' (Independent)

‘Murder To The Mind’ was recorded in Tash’s hometown Melbourne with Nik Miltiadou, the same engineer behind her debut NOTION EP. The genesis for the single came during a day off from Tash's massive sold out Australian tour. Tash bought a new Nord keyboard in her downtime and after experimenting, developed the lead hook for 'Murder To The Mind'. As usual, everything you hear on the new single is played by the multi-instrumental wonder. 'Murder To The Mind' had its world premiere on triple J and the text line was flooded with messages from excited fans.

THE OCEAN PARTY - 'QUALITY CONTROL' (Spunk Records)

Dreamy, articulate first taste of a new album from the prolific Melbourne-by-Wagga-Wagga six-piece, due out later this year.

"... it's just too damn hard to fault a band that sounds as sharp as this... compelling ideas, rich in instrumentation and performed with unerring conviction." - Beat Magazine
“They're one of the most prolific bands in the country... despite releasing so much music, there's no drop in quality.” - Dom Alessio, triple j
“... contrasting balance of cool breeze compositions and lyrically compact punchlines.” - Rolling Stone

THE AFGHAN WHIGS - 'DEMON IN PROFILE' (Sub Pop)

The Afghan Whigs have announced their spellbinding new album In Spades, out Friday May 5on Sub Pop via Inertia Music, and dropped the dramatic film clip for its first single "Demon In Profile". The album, led by “Demon In Profile” and standouts “Oriole”, “Copernicus”, “Arabian Heights” and “Toy Automatic”, is the follow-up to the band’s internationally acclaimed Do to the Beast.  In Spades, written and produced by Greg Dulli, was recorded in New Orleans, Los Angeles, Memphis and Joshua Tree.

MIDNIGHT SISTER - 'LEAVE YOU' (Jagjaguwar)

The slinky, mysterious, cinematic music of Midnight Sister is brought to you by the isolating landscape of the San Fernando Valley in LA — its colours, its diners, its lunatics, its neon lights. The duo of Juliana Giraffe and Ari Balouzian, lifelong residents of this storied valley, have only become more inspired by the area’s mythology over the years, its two-faced magical wonderland and tragic circus. Midnight Sister are currently working on their debut album which will come out later this year on Jagjaguwar via Inertia Music.

SUN SAP - 'LOVE IS GONE' (Independent)

Inspired by James Bond, “Love Is Gone” is lyrically self-explanatory; however finds the band inspired to incorporate a horn section. Recorded by Shaun Gaida and mixed by Konstantin Kersting (The Jungle Giants, The Belligerents, Moses Gun Collective), “Love Is Gone” highlights their laidback surf-rock vibes and blends West Coast garage-rock ‘n’ roll with psych and soul.
