Melbourne band GRAZER release stunning new double single 'Without You'/'Vision'
20/7/2021
Today, 20 July 2021, Melbourne dream pop/shoegaze band GRAZER share the double A-side single 'Without You' / 'Vision', out via Cascine. Laced with warbling lead synths, layered vocals and floating guitar rhythms, duo Mollie and Matt (aka GRAZER) showcase their musical prowess by presenting two contrasting singles; ‘Without You’, a tale of emptiness of life without the other and ‘Vision’, a bright and optimistic recall of blissful romance.
Describing the two singles, GRAZER recall: 'To me, 'Without You' is about loving someone, but knowing that they could leave at any time. It's blissful in the moment, but there is always a lingering emptiness - the thought of life without the other. The last line 'You'll know what it's like to be without you' is an attempt to show one's lover the unbearable pain of their absence. 'Vision' is the naive foresight of where you want a relationship to go. It recalls our early romance in London, optimistic and innocent.'
While 'Without You' is a pure demonstration of the band's dark pop poetry propelled by it's driving drumbeat and melodic riffs, 'Vision' presents a dreamy and melancholic side, awash with saturated guitars and echoey vocal refrains. 'Without You' arrives alongside a music video directed by Nic Sujecki, starring Mollie and Matt themselves.
